My OC results.

Bought a 2500xp from CPU City who told me on the phone the chip would be a AQXEA. When it arrived it was a AQXFA. I though 1 letter difference should be ok!!!

Stable at 190FSB with 11 Multiplier. Anything above this causes Prime95 to fail.

Has anyone had better results with a AQXFA chip?

Also, has anyone had experience of clocking a 9500pro? I have tried two overclock utils now and both have casued a VPU fail when increasing the core by only 10mhz.

Probably have to flash the BIOS, most 9500 Pro's are locked.

What RAM are you running and is it in synch with the fsb?
Also what motherboard are you running it on?
If it is in dual channel that could limit it, i can get my sammy pc2700 to 193 before it craps out in dual channel. But they have been to 200fsb (pc3200 speed) not in dual channel. That is on an NF7-S (V2.0)

All you need to o/c a 9500PRO is the 'ATI anti-o/c protection' sw although flashing the BIOS should solve the problem long term. So basically flash the BIOS or mod the drivers, either of which is well worth it. 9500PRO are still better than the 9600XT and have the full processing power of the 9700 at stock and the 9800PRO with a good (but done before) o/c. Of course 128bitDDR does hold the 9500PRO back but not as much as you'd think, easily within sniffing distance of the top cards.
