    What Should I Upgrade?

I haven't upgraded anything for a while, and I dont know if i should or need to. I enjoy playing the odd game, CS: Source, Tactical Ops, Far Cry etc...I do a bit of photoshopping, and to be honest my computer seems perfectly fine for all that.

But I just want to upgrade!

    I currently have:

AMD Opteron CABNE clocked at 2.5ghz
    ABIT AN8 Ultra
    Inno3D 7800GT 256
    OCZ 1GB Dual Channel 2.5-3-3-7
    X-Fi Xtreme Music
    200GB SATA WD
    200Gb SATA Maxtor
    19" Viewsonic VX912
    Logitech G5
    Microsoft Multimedia Pro Keyboard
    Creative Megaworks 250D Speakers
    Lian li PC60 S

The only thing I can think of is 2GB of RAM.

2gb ram is the first thing that sprang into mind for me. Other options are dual core cpu or sell your 7800gt and get a 7900gt (or x1900xt) etc.

TO be honest i dont think you'll get a huge difference, your pc looks good as it is.

If you want to tinker and get some new kit i find messing around with water cooling is very fun and can help silence your pc.

Corsair Nautilus is dead easy to install and the performance is not bad. Or Zalman Reserator. I think 2Gb of memory is the only thing that make sense to upgrade, or another hard drive may be?
    Primary kit:
    Fuji S5 Pro - Nikkor AF 50/1.8 - Nikkor AF 85/1.8
    Epson RD-1

    Film Kit:
    Leica M3 - Summicron 50/2 DR - Zeiss ZM 25/2.8 - M-Rokkor 40/2

    Olympus OM2n - Zuiko 50/2 Macro - Zuiko 50/1.4 - Zuiko 35/2.8

I have an NV5 on my 7800GT, so it cool and quite. Overall, my case is quite, with 2x 120MM Silenx fans, and 1x 80mm Silenx fan. I also have a Zalman CNPS9500 CPU heatsink, really quite and performs well.

I was thinking something like the Coolermaster Aquagate, looks really cool.

It depends on the money you have...conroe perhaps when it comes out, you have a great comp at the moment, so there's not a great deal you can get out of it, I would wait a while...something you probably didn't want anyone to say!

Some people would love a system like that. I agree with most of the previous posters upgrade to 2Gb and dual core would be sensible if you really must.

Aquagate doesnt perform very well from my past experience, IMO looks for something else.

Best and only good wc 'kits' available imo are the swiftech - these include decent pump, 120.2 rad, block, res etc and are cheaper than if bought parts individually.

With a good air cooler such as a thermalright or big TT wc is'nt really needed to get high clocks but if silence is what you want then go for it; i'd just get 2gb of good memory.
