See title.
It's not overclocked or anything, just a stock 2.8Ghz... and I'm pretty sure 80 degrees is too damn hot. It idles at around 65 degrees, and even straight after booting it's already at 60. Isn't 40 more like a decent idling temp?
Suppose you'll need some info before you can help. Erm, it's in a machine that used to have a 3.0Ghz Celeron...there's plenty of thermal paste on there though it has gone grey and lumpy like it always does. What else..? Oh and the fan goes into full whack pretty quickly so it's aware of the high temp etc.
If you can offer any advice I'd appreciate it.
Thanks
