    Dead screen?

    17" Digimate TFT

I went to turn my PC on this morning and my screen doesnt seem to be working. I press the power button on the front and nothing happens.

The light on the external PSU is on and when I connect the power to the screen I can hear the built in speakers "pop" which suggests the power supply is working.

    Any ideas?

    Ta!

    Edit> Damnit, I thought I was in the hexus.help forum :/

Its not something silly like the VGA / DVI Connector fallen out the back of the comp is it? I know it sounds silly but has caught me out a couple of times!

hehe I did think the same thanks but nah, basically the power button on the front of the monitor doesnt even light up either.

It could be that the button is knackered I spose, or maybe something before the button.

    Anyone had anything similar?

Try it with another computer if possible, and also change the vga cable. I have just realised that my graphics card has stopped working with dvi so am back to the vga.

IF your power button isnt even lighting up (i presume you mean you cant get power to the TFT whatsoever) on your tft then i presume the tft has died....but as said on previos post, its best to try different cables and monitor (if you have one) to confirm

I would say its either the power going into the monitor or the monitor itself

yeah its not a monitor cable problem because the monitor can (well it used to be able to) be on without the PC being on.

I did give it a go though and no luck. I tried the monitor speakers and they work even when the actual display doesnt.
