I have an Antec Smartpower 400 watt powersupply. My list of components are as follows: X850 PRO AGP, Asus P4C800 Deluxe, P4 2.6 Northwood, 2gb Corsair 2-3-2-5, Audigy 2 ZS Platinum (with infrared external drive installed), 6 case fans (4 120mm/2 80mm), 3 harddrives (1 30gb ATA 100 IDE/2 SATA 80gb). If that's too much for the PSU, would I be fine if I took out the 30gb IDE drive? I'm only using it as a swap drive. I appreciate any and all help I can get. Thanks.
I have a simular setup (except my CPU munches more juice).. Doing fine with a 420W PSU.
Yep, it'll be fine, as Antec PSUs are good quality and will actually deliver what they promise.

Go there, stick your components into that, see what it says. I'd imagine that would be fine, I used to run my whole rig (with more components than it's got now) off a 400w without problems.
However, if you're using that PSU just now with all that stuff and it's not giving you problems then you've already got the answer to your question right there! :)

A decent 400W PSU, (like the one that you've got) will be absolutely fine.
It may not have a 6pin PCIe connector depending on how modern the PSU is, but other than that, it'll do you well
wuda thought that would be sufficient. use the PSU calculator. but this question has been asked a few tiems, and alot of ppl run quite alot of stuff on PSU's with a fairly low voltage.

The antec p150 has a 430 watt PSU - need to figure out if that will suffice for my rig when i get it!
Yerp, I think it would be sufficient as it comes from reputable manufacturers. They would rate it as actual power usage but if you buy a cheapo PSU, they rated it as Peak power Usage which can only be sustained for a couple of minutes. I
