Intake or Exhaust VGA cooler?

hello, could anyone tell me whether the following coolers are intake fans, or exhaust fans (ie, whether they suck in air from inside the case, or just blow hot air away from the GPU)?

The first one exhausts hot air out the back of the case.

The second one just swirls it away from the GFX card, but requires another fan to remove it from the case. Still *very* good though, I understand.

the zalman is a good cooler, but weather its worth changing from your orginal card if its the 1st one.

actually, the first one fires the hot air out of both ends, so that it DOES send some of it out of the back, but also half of the air is circulated back into the case, so no matter how good either cooler is, you still need good case ventilation with either of them.

what I meant was, does they both take air IN towards the GPU (intake), then just circulate it, or do they blow the hot air upwards AWAY from the GPU ('exhaust')?

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough!

The reason I need to know, is because I want to know whether it's safe to install another card right next to the VGA. If it's an exhaust fan, I have no problem, but if it's going to suck air in towards the GPU, then I have a problem, since putting a card next to it would restrict air flow.

I hope you know what I mean!

they both suck air downwards onto the fan, and then blow it outwards through the fins on the heatsinks.

itll work, but your gpu temps will go up. if you find that you dont have a choice, then rig up a 120mm fan blowing directly onto the cards, it works a treat.

How would I do that, just use blu-tack or something? It's actually Scan who are building the system for me, so do you think I'd be able to ask them to do that?

Cable ties work well, though I've got two fans in my PC suspended using twis-ties. Works equally well

Would Scan computers be able to do that (they're building the system) or would I have to do it myself?
