A lot of people will argue that the extra L2 Cache isn't worth a lot in terms of performance but I ended up going for the 3700+ just because the price wasn't that much different. when I bought mine. I don't regret it one bit to be honest.

For $24 extra I would go for the 3700, for the cache and the speed.

Yeah go for the 3700+, especially as AMD are dropping the 1MB cache chips so it may end up becoming a collectable.

I'd go for an Opteron 146 myself. Got the 1Mb L2 cache, and pretty good odds of overclocking. Many have hit 3Ghz. Many more can hit 2.8GHz. Most will hit 2.6GHz.

I'd also recommend a 146 but try to check stepping before handing over cash.

and opteron is also a good choice, scan do them ast a ncie price, depends if you are into overclocking really.

Well I picked up my Sandy today the stepping according to Everest is the SH-E4 stepping is this good?

One other thing. Recently, the price of the 3500 has dropped like a rock. The 3700 hasn't and neither has the Opteron.
