P4 3.0Ghz - £45-50
1GB of ram - £40
6800GT - £80-90
Case - £45-50
Tagan - £30
Bits and Bobs (mobo and all) - £30-35
Wireless card - not sure maybe £10?
TV-card - £20?
Total adds up to about £320 best case scenario.. and throw in £20 to cover delivery..
Me want Ultrabook
Thanks for the estimates, but I think those are a bit low. The nebula card is not worth £20! AGP gt's seem to go for about £110 and this on e has an arctic cooler fitted and does ultra speeds.

sounds about right to me tbh...Originally Posted by sawyen

Remember as soon as you buy a piece of hardware, it's value will drop within a month or so.
Yea, deprechiation for computers is very rapid, the mear act of purchasing hardware imediately wipes 10% or more of it's value, and loses 25% of its post-purchase value every year thereafter, so after 4 years it's practically worthless, with exception of people who need old hardware for some reason or another, they might throw £100 your way or some such :/
Strangely enough, I am fully aware of that, but some are those values are low in comparison to what things have sold for in here before. For example 6800gt's for about £100. The nebula TV card is not worth £20 and is still recognised as one of the best digital tv pci cards, with fantastic PVR software of its own.

well, I sold my 6800GT for £120 2 1/2 months back.. when the 7600GT presence wasnt so strong..
Having the 7600GT so strong now, I woudnt be suprised if ppl would just bite the bullet and get a PCI-E board and a 7600GT.. so £90 is a good estimate.. perhaps you might be able to push it to £100.. but that is very rare IMO
The nebula bit, I must admit was a little wild guess.. perhaps its worth more, but the rest of the bits are within the range of second hand bits..
For example
3.0Ghz Prescott (s478), a 3000+ goes for £50+ new, I guess you might get away from saying a new S478 3.0Ghz goes for £100.. but honestly, would anyone buy one with the current AMD 64 so much faster and so darn cheap?
1Gb mem, £40.. AGAIG.. unless you're those LLatency kits.. perhaps mid 50s.. New standard memory goes for under £50 for a gig kit.
s478 motherboard, I know P4C800 was a legend board. But its use just doesnt serve much now.. so £35 is a fair price for a motherboard and a DVD-ROM for say..
NOTE: the bits and bobs DO NOT include the HDDs.. I thought you were going to keep those.. perhaps that is why you're saying the price was low..
Hope that helps.

agreed, it does cost more than that. but eveyrhitng else was priced about right.

You were saying you've seen graphics cards on eBay go for a lot, but are they second hand or brand new?
I don't remember saying anything about E-bay! I think the other prices are about right, but it was the tv card and gfx prices seemed a little low on my (very limited) research. Thanks for all of the help people!
