Why not go for a non-SLi board, it'll probably be cheaper.

Also, you can pick up a 3500+ for £74.60 from Scan.

    This is cheaper:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=209793 (Athlon 64 3000 @ £61 inc vat)

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=273376 (Abit KN8 SLI @ £59 inc vat - this has a heatpipe cooler, so no noise and will likely o/c better than the ASUS if you want to o/c)

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=368193 (7600GS @ £75 inc vat)

If your budget can stretch, then alternatively go for this:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=380696 (7600GT @ £128 inc vat)

Total = £195 or £248 depending on which GFX card you go for.

Finally, you qualify for free shipping with scan by virtue of the fact you have posted more than 25 posts here at Hexus - you just need to register for it.

    Edit: Emphasis added.

    How about this:
    512Mb Asus 7600GS Mem Clock 540 MHz, GPU 400 MHz, 12 Pipes, D-Sub DVI-I S-Video/TV Out £96.57

    AMD Athlon 64 3000 + Socket939 , Venice Core, 1.8GHz , 512KB Cache, Retail £60.92

    Asrock 939SLI32-eSATA2 ULi M1695, S939, PCI-E (x16), DDR 400, SATA II, SATA RAID, ATX £52.28

    Total £209.77

Just over £200 but its ready for SLI of the 7600 if he can afford it at a later date. Graphics card has SM3.0 support so its better in terms of futureability
    Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 3.2Ghz (400Mhzx8) 1.52V (set in bios, 1.47v real) | 4GB GeIL PC6400 4-4-4-12 | Gigabyte DQ6 @ 1600Mhz | HD2900XT 1GB | Enermax Infiniti 720W | Silverstone TJ07-B with custom watercooling | BenQ FP241WZ
    3dmark05 - 13140 | 3dmark06 - 6698 | SuperPi 1M - 15s
