Here's a crazy idea, move the PC closer to the monitor, or vice-versa.

Pretty difficult when you consider that the monitor is wall mounted and the cables will be going in the wall. But thanks for the advice....

Your walls are 5 metres high?

No, as I say they will be going in the walls and along the skirting boards. So I will be looking at about 1.5M in the wall then another 2.5M in the skirting boards. The additional metre gives me some flexability.

It would be pretty pointless to move everything because scan only do a 2M cable.

There are plenty of retailers on the internet that sell 5M+ but can only deliver next week.

so.. you wont move everything (why?) so a 2m cable wont do, and you wont wait until next week for a 5M cable to arrive.. what other options are open?.. pray to Jesus?

Becuase having a PC, printer, sub, scanner etc in the middle of the room won't look very nice.

The other options that are open are to find a company that stock the 5M cables and deliver on a Saturday. Hence posting this thread!

That would be because the plasterers are coming in on Sunday. I had already ordered the cables in plenty of time but was let down by the supplier.

Do you always post unhelpful comments? I am simply asking for people to provide details of any suppliers that could ship a 5M Dual Link cable for tomorrow. If you can't, please stop posting.

When I said "pray to Jesus?", I ment it litterly, because you're asking for a miracle, the best bet you have is going to a local store, maplin is the most likely candidate, if that doesn't work, you'll have to tell the plasterers to come back next week.

I'm being helpful by being honest, and you shouldn't have left reordering til the last minute.

In an effort to be useful (as opposed to aidanjt, who seems to just post his opinions, and if you disagree you're automatically wrong), Kustom PCs do a 3.6m Dual-link DVI cable, and if you post in the forums (or PM Graeme) asking if at all possible for it be posted ASAP for the following day they'll likely manage it - have done in the past with me - do so after placing the order.

Here's the Dual-link DVI: http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_3570.html (choose length at the bottom)

Here's a 4.5m USB A-B cable (you can get a choice of red or blue lights - no non-lighted cables over 2m unfortunately):
http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_3433.html (//edit: scrub that, the USB cables are out of stock, sorry)

There doesn't appear to be any power leads at all though, of any size.

You could just run a piece of string through the trunking then tie the cable on and pull it through when you get it.
