Just about to drop it into my new NF7S, worth doing the in socket wire mod before it goes in?

Seconded. That's about the best chip you can get and definitely no need for any modding to it esp with an NF7-S.
Well its been sat since install at 3200 speeds, not gonna push it anymore until I'm all installed and stuff, what kinda FSB should I be aiming for with 1Gb PC3200 Geil and this chip...
Bearing in mind my coolings not the greatest, SLK800 with an 80mm 2500rpm fan on it its sat at 44oC atm with 1.75v going thru it....
Go for broke I say. Push it until it cries mommy.
But considering the high voltage you need to get it up to 2.2Ghz (1.75v), you may not have enough head room. Then again, I can do 2.2Ghz with default voltage, but hit a wall at 2.45Ghz, 1.85v.

I've stuck it at 1.75 for burn in purposes, I'll see how low it'll go when I've left it for a week at 1.75...
The burning-in process, I've somewhat become a reluctant believer. When I first got my CPU (or rather, putting the whole system together) it could not do 2.2Ghz unless the vCore was at 1.7v. Now, it's happily foliding and gaming at 2.2Ghz, 1.65v. It's too bad though, that the A7N8X-X doesn't allow you to undervolt.
