Internal Hard Drive Caddy

Hi All,

After relocating some watercooling parts in my case, I've had to move my hard disks up into the 5¼" bays at the top of my case. I currently have 3 SATA(300) hard drives and 3 free bays, only one of which is mounted due to the fact that I bought some brackets which don't fit the drives at all (I had to file them to get them to fit).

Now I was thinking about buying a hard drive caddy for these three drives (such as this one), but I don't have a clue what would be a recommended buy - ideally I would like a caddy which you can hot-swap and which would also have a 120mm fan on the back (or front) - but I don't know which are any good.

Has anyone any recommendations that they would care to share?

It's highly unlikely that you'll find a disk plane with a rear 120mm fan even in the server field, note that the hotswappable thing with hard drives is a disk controller issue, you can pull out a hard drive in practically any way as long as the controller supports it, and this feature is only usually found in expensive hardware raid controllers.

Anyway.. take your pick.

RaidSonic have a great range of Hotswap SATA backplane solutions, and you can get a 5 drive version that will fit into 3 cd bays that you have.

They have a 92mm (from memory) fan on the back, which is not too bad, and obviously have the connections on the back to connect them to whichever controller you desire.
