Hello,
Are these two compatible? Will a laptop with the Intel Core duo or Pentium mobile work with Windows Vista (64 bit)?

Only one real way to find out...
yes. i wouldnt worry. its that integrated intel graphics that could s*** on your aeroglass parade
Intel Core (yonah) is not 64bit IIRC.
Intel Core 2 (conroe + merom) is 64bit compatible.
So if its yonah its 32bit only for you unfortunately.
EDIT: http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=4604 hmmm, forgot about that.
vista has no requirement that processors be 64bitOriginally Posted by [DW]Cougho

bah vista confuses me.... still yonah doesnt have 64bit capability atm.... which im sure was part of the OP's first question hence the "(64bit)" which also mislead me
oops. i pretty much just scanned original post
ok so were decided. no 64 bit processor no 64 bit OS? good
I'd say it'll be a year or so before 64bits it really useful for home users. I guess the main advantage of it is the increased memory support (64bit addresses vs 32bit addresses) and seeing as 4GB is fairly rare as it is, needing to go over this amount is not going to happen for a while.
I'd be more worried about the graphics card you are going to use for Vista than the cpu!
Indeed.. wait for windows developers to wake up to the 64bit reality before worring about a 64bit CPU, 64bit has been around for years, and still nothing yet. Maybe Vistas release will give them the shove they need, but I doubt it, and Vista wont be released until next year
