With my specs, (amd 3700, 7800gt + 2x 512 CL2 RAM) i got a 3d mark score of 6998.
After upgrading the memory to 2x 1024 (same speed as old memory) I have a 3d mark score of 6500.
Can anybody enlighten me as to what this could be?

Latencies/timings could be a cause for most of that.
Some theoretical benchmarks (not sure about 3dmark) will take a bit hit when you're loosening them, but real world difference is usually 1-2fps max.
A small price to pay for a much more responsive system on the whole :)
The latency was in CL 2 maybe now got up to 3 or even 4, just remember to keep your memory with tight timmings.
1GB is actually fine if you don't have lots of programs running :)Quote:

Its just 3dMarks performance which had dropped, everything else like FEAR and BF2's performance has increased quite alot. The loading times of maps in BF2 has almost doubled, I keep getting into maps 5 -10 seconds before another soul spawns... gives me the change to do some sneaky capturing all on my tod :D
