Low Density / High Density?

Well whats the difference? I have an asus p4r800-vm mobo which memory does this take high or low?
Corsair value ram looks good for 2 x 1gb sticks on scan for £118

the 2gb value select pc3200 kit is fine for your motherboard. stick "p4r800-vm" into http://www.corsairmemory.com/ 's configurator, then it will be available under "motherboards that match your keywords" when it gives the results select "other modules" and its on the list. swear by corsair ram by the way, although iv got a notoriously fussy shuttle motherboard.

oh and the difference between low and high density RAM is the size of the chips on it ie 4x128Mbit for high or 8x64Mbit for low. its not important at all really its just a case of whats compatable with your motherboard in the price bracket your willing to pay

high density seems alot cheaper seen alot on egay 1gig for 30quid inc p&p (life time warrenty)

was thinking about getting that myself since 1gig of low density is about 60quid

i have no idea where this sudden talk of high / low density has come from. its all just ram (probably unbranded crap) if its compatable with your motherboard

yes. however i presume were going for the cheapest possible from the comments above so thats a non-issue

You'll see that those cheap one you saw they're only supported by a handful number of Asrock motherboards and other machines won't boot with it.

Again Latency timings seems a new question mark for me but ive ran it through corsair online and this seems to be combo of speed and value

Ram timings and speed do make a difference but not usually enough to make it worth the extra money. I would recommend "value" ram to almost everyone, save those who have and want to spend every single penny for an extra fps here or there...

£118 for 2gb of VS isn't great, I'm pretty sure I got my 2gb for about £110 in March or so. Also worth looking at are Geil and OCZ value ram as they will perform the same but might have a better price.
