The Mirage-62 front attaches in exactly the same way as the front on the Eclipse-62.

Not overly sure why Akasa have fitted the firewire port in the side of the case with a regular firewire connector and not a pin style connector for hooking up to the header on many mobo's.

I could do with a convertor cable now that will plug into the header on the mobo and convert to a firewire port to link the cable too.

I saw someone selling an Antec P180 door on ebay. They may have bought the P180 and then told Antec the door warped but it didn't?

May have to wait for someone to smash the rest of the case and sell the Mirage door on ebay

The front of the case it about 1/2 inch deeper than that on the Eclipse-62 to accomodate the door which it held closed by 3 magnetic squares and has a small indent to the right of the case side near the I/O Ports for opening.

The open door picture shows the door at the maximum it will open, the internal back of the door has a full lengh internal vented plastic back which could possably be modified to allow the installation of for example the X-FI I/O Panel and would allow the volume and mic dials to sit inside the door when closed.

It's a shame the I/O ports were not mounted in one of the 3 1/2" bays and could be removed if not needed and a spare blanking plate installed.
I like this case, although somewhat reminiscent of this case, http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/...cat=168&page=1 I do prefer the Akasa, cleaner looks, better cooling anyday.
I have seen quite enough of Thermaltake now, just too much hassle with all the wires inside, I still have a Xaser III in use ( our kids PC) !

lol i was wondering why you would shame Akasa with that blasphemous symbol (jk i like macs )

@oxygen - The door looks plastic to me, it hasn't got the sheen that the sides have (unless it's just well sprayed) - And.. Welcome to Hexus

I'm having problems with installing the motherboard on this case. I have an ATX Asus with an LGA775 socket. The backplate for the CPU cooler doesn't fit the holes on the backplate of the Mirage 62. The Mirage 62 is E-ATX but I thought it was compatible with ATX also.

Any ideas on what I need to do to ftr the motherboard and CPU in?

    Thanks.

There are spacers (little hex pillars) supplied with the case which are used to raise the motherboard off the backplate of the motherboard tray.

The backplate for the CPU cooler doesn't fit the holes on the backplate of the Mirage 62.
As far a I understand it, the CPU cooler backplate attaches to the back of the motherboard, not the tray. Using the spacers to raise the motherboard will give the required clearance for the cooler backplate and screws.

I know its a bit after your original post, I have just got hold of one of these cases, and it does have a plastic front door on it for anyone still wondering.
