    Which shuttle?

Was thinking about putting my rig ( in my system) into a shuttle? I love the SN25P and the SN26P but they are the dogs willies in terms of shuttles and the price shows that?

Could anyone recommend me anything as slick as these 2 for a bit cheaper?

    Cheers lads

not wanting to take anything from hexus, but the guys at sudian forums have a rather busy SFF section, so you can see what issues/etc each shuttle has and things

All shuttles are expensive unfortunately, price tends to mostly reflect how new the system is and they don't tend to go down until they are too old.

I'd consider the ST20G5 as a cheaper alternative, as long as you don't mind going ATI for the chipset. Personally I think it's a really slick machine.

edit: or infact the refresh of that, the ST21G5 (which NVidia integrated) is probably ok too, and cheaper.

they loook ideal but i can get the sn25p for 200 of a guy on here.
would i lose much performance if i put my current rig "my system" in to a shuttle from the wavemaster?

The ST20G5 is not a bad shuttle. I picked up a repaired one from dabs for £180, saving myself £70 from the original price. The shuttles are getting ridiculously expensive and not worth paying £300+ for just a barebone. That said, they can be put together very quickly as there is not much to fiddle around and the convenience is a plus.

The ST20G5 is a bit noisy though as I had to crank the fan up to keep the AMD64 3700+ under 50 C at stock. It could be the recent hot weather which is not helping.

I had a brief look at other xpcs, but really the shuttles seem to be the best. You won't loose any performance swapping in a current system.

    price isn't too horrific
    good psu - £70
good motherboard with loads of features compressed into sff size - £100
    nice SFF-style case w/o psu - £80
gets you up to around £250. less if you get cheaper components obviously but apparently shuttle kit is pretty good?

Going to wait for the shuttle AM2 and Conroe releases, see how the new cpus fare in retail reviews, then decide if it's a better plan to buy into a shuttle or to try build my own "SFF" uATX pc inside a silverstone SUGO case or something similar...

i was totally sick of my case getting in the way/ taking up too much room... and too much time me fiddling with it .

i had a coolermaster black widow and it looked really nice it was just a pain to keep clean and was just too big.

Anyway i now have a SN25p and yep they are really expensive but i was not too fussed because i am keeping this for a while which means i wont be spending few quid here few quid there on uprgrading bits to squeeze more oc out of my pc.

i am really enjoying it..... i always said i could not go to SFF because i like to tweak and play too much.

i agree now is not the time too be paying so much for a shuttle, i would wait for the new gen conroe ones to come out.
