Lightbulb FINALLY!, a divx player that can handle divx 5 properly!

    http://www.elta.de/de/artikel.asp?Ar...8883&x=84&y=18

The slimline player handles both DVD video and audio, and is

the first hardware player to fully support DivX PRO

    GMC,
    B-frames,
    QPel,

    ^kick ass!
but also postprocessing, data partition and error resynch markers (you might see those features in an upcoming MPEG-4 codec. IT also has a progressive scan output and according to the datasheet I have, it can also handle WMA audio

I bet you can't multi-region it though ... or record to DVDs on it ... shame because it seems to do EVERYTHING else! Great find ... now what will the pricing and availability be like?

Bah, and I was wondering why I couldn't find a price on that page. It does look a bit on the huge side, it looks like, from that picture, that it would infact overhang most non-huge/widescreen TVs....

the fact that its the only player to properly work with divx 5 means i dont care what it looks like!

hopefully, other manufacturers like Kiss Technology will catch on and produce something to rival it

aha, apparently it's not been released yet, that's why we can't find much about it other than what's on the manufacturer's page..
