Heatsink ...quite literally AMAZING and its CHEAP

I've had an SK-6 for 2 years......its all copper and its done a great job on my Athlon Axia Y and then my XP 1700+ at 2600+ speed....

I ordered a ton of stuff from eBuyer last week, and saw this....

    at £5.99 + vat...who knows?

I just tried it........I have taken 4 degrees off my CPU.

this thing outperforms my SK6 which are still biggish money

Its a big alloy job with a copper instert.....it was a git to fit....

    but who cares?

    http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=48547

dont hesitate.....next time you order stuff, get one (or two) cos frankly...THEY RROCK

How noisy is it? Can you vary the fanspeed?

Seems good, if it turns out to be too noisy you should be able to replace the fan, possibly with a Smart Fan 2 for full adjustability. However then I guess you might as well buy a Volcano 9-12 which come in £12-16 and already include Smart Fan 2. Definitely a good find though, can't really go wrong for £7.

    its OK.......volume wise.....

its quieter than my old YS Tech on the SK6

    can't believe my luck.....really can't

not adjustable fans speed tho...but hey.......its a big slow fan 2500 rpm...the old SK6 was over 4000 rpm

    love it.

Solid as a rock after 50 mins IL2

Did you try cleaning all the dust off your old HS first? That can drop your CPU temp by a few c.

my 9700np runs at about 35c with it, the gpu is at 420mhz, giving me 17k in 3dm2k1. mem is only at 300 on that test which is limiting the performance a lot. cost me £3 to make, but the silver was free
only fin making it yesterday though, so still lots of time to test and hope it wont leak

Ive been using the exact same one in my recent system builds Zak - it is indeed brilliant.
Solid performace and very very quiet, it truly is an excellent HSF, cant recomend it enough.

I did the exact same thing! The X-Dream fan was SERIOUSLY loud, so I replaced it with an evercool (courtesy of oclocker ) and it runs in the htpc in my lounge splendidly.
