Can you overclock a force feedback?

hey guys, an intereting one for you.

I have a MS Sidewinder Force Feedback 2, and its a ice little joystick, when you play around with the demo in the drivers screen it throws the stick about and is awesome..... but any game that uses it has one of two problems....

    1. The FF is really weak and disapointing

    2. It something like Jedi Knights and I dont use the joystick for that.

so, does anyone have any ideas if ayone makes drivers to overclock them? or any stories about it at least.

    cheers.

You can set the force feedback properties if you install the software for it.

You can make any game use the forcefeedback to whatever level you want. HOWEVER be warned the higher you set it the quicker the joystick is likely to die.

2 Months with full ff on on CFS1 caused my mates MS ff js version 1 to die a horrible death.

My MS Force Feedback 1 is still going strong through months and months of flight sims and mechwarriors, I don't think they should die that easily. Mine is like 3 years old now and is still completely fine.

I didn't thikn the old MS FF 1 drivers had the FF effect enabled on XP or win2k. (i may be imagining that - i'm sure my mate mentioned that at some point tho)

Yep, has FF. You just need to use the Generic "SideWinder (Auto Detect)" driver and it picks it up as a MS Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro.

yeah, but you can't configure the strength of the FF in xp with the MSFF1 shame, as its so much nicer than the MSFF2!

Do you think its possible to get someone to hack the MSFFB2 drivers? I hate MS for not supporting my stick though. I mean, not even support in 2000 for it. Crap for an £80 joystick.
