    Pre-Built System

    Hello all,

I'm after a pre-built base unit only of a half decent spec ideal for playing low end games, browsing the internet, playing solitaire etc and a bit of image manipulation. It's for a family member and they won't really play upto date games or do anything *that* intensive and I doubt he will require much storage capacity.

The only other criteria I have is that it is brand new from either the high street or a reputable online retailer. He already has a nice flat screen monitor and has keyboard / speakers / mouse so those aren't necessary.

    Cheers fellas,

you say that, but how many applications does he like to run at the same time? i mean, i use a P3 -1.13 (oooOOOOooo - never overheated) at work and run word, excel, paint shop pro, dreamweaver, outlook express, firefox, shareaza, and adobe acrobat at the same time. it does everything there very, very easily. whats the real need to buy new?

    Budget would be around £400.

It's all well and good using a lower spec machine but I'd like it to be a bit future proofed.

£400 prebuilt. Dell is probably your best bet.
