I think its a general misconception the water cooling will drastically reduce temperatures. It will only be as cool as the air in the rest of the room. It does allow you to cool in relative silence though.

your spot on there mate - if the ambient temp is high then the water in the loop will be high as well, i was runnin at 25 degrees during the cooler months, now im on 32

From the link I'm guessing you want a fairly cheap all-in-one solution that's compatible with Socket A. One alternative that would be better than the 80mm fan/radiator kit from CoolerMaster is the Thermaltake Silent Water, or you could get the Bigwater SE, though it's a kit rather than an all-in-one.

    i need 80mm though

and i understand that watercooling doesnt make things cooler completely... but i need silence

and im sure it would be cooler than it is now...

huh... the silent water seems to be a better solution.. it looks smaller and such

but is there an 80 mm one? i dont have anywhere to screw in 120mm on my case

The problem with using an 80mm fan/radiator is that it negates the real advantage of water-cooling. All water-cooling does is allow you to transfer the heat to another place where you can get rid of it more easily. It's really just a more effective form of the heat-pipes seen in modern air coolers. A 120mm fan will always be quieter and more effective than an 80mm one simply because there's much more surface area on the blades to move air past the radiator.

If you don't have space inside the case you could think about mounting it outside. Swiftech has a very good reputation and produces kits with a 'radbox' which allows the radiator to be mounted hanging off the back of the case (they also make an 80mm version, though it's about 23% less effective at the same noise level according to their own numbers). Here's a short user review of the radbox in action.

There are other external solutions, such as the Exos from Koolance, though they are pricey (Corsair makes a decent external cooler that's much cheaper, but unfortunately doesn't support socket A).
