Portégé M400 - good tablet choice?

    Hi guys,

I'm looking to sell my Acer while it still has some value (lol) and I want to replace it with a tablet PC for a combination of ultra-portability and snazziness.

I've had my eye on the Lenovo X41 for a while, but suddenly something from Toshiba has caught my eye:

    PDF: http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.c...0datasheet.pdf
    eTail: http://www.misco.co.uk/productinform...~WW~/index.htm

It just about scrapes into my budget, and it has an impressive feature set (the internal optical drive greatly welcomed.)

    Any thoughts/advice?

    imo they rock.

A mate has litterally just got one of these bad boys (had it a week) i think its the USA version thou, felt i should mention that in case yours is different.

SelectBay (the optical drive is good) because you can get a second battery (3600mAh).

the thing is, its not as small or as light as a full slate tablet PC, and the graphics suck. Other than that its great.

ps, i run a Tecra M4 for my tablet needs
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)

I think a 12" model is enough of a compromise for me as I will use it has a laptop as much as I will a tablet.

As for graphics... I have a GeForce 6800 GT in my main PC. Anyway, the boss'll be happy as I won't be able to play games* on the job.

If you haven't got something else already then GET THE M400! imo the best of the best atm, after EvilWeevil got one I went out and bought one!

Whilst a somewhat minor factor, apart from the bundled Norton (first thing off) all the pre-installed stuff is great.

Look at all the features: Fingerprint scanner, 'encrypted data safe', TPM, random sec. logon bits such as must be connected to 'x' network and have 'x' file on 'x' dongle connected to logon, beautiful screen, fast, RAID, card reader, 80 gig drive, firewire, etc. etc. Tosh. really have thought of everything for this one down to the spare nibs and stylus compartment underneath.

Only complaint is it's high price tag for only 512 megs RAM and three USB ports.

    Basically perfect!
