    Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI

Could someone kindly tell me if this board has locking mechanism for sata frequency? I am now trying to overclock my 3700+ but I can't find any settings inside bios that seem to do the job? Only setting I can find there is frequency adjustment for pcie, does this mean if I lock this value to 100, all my sata drives frequency will be locked accordingly(so that they won't be affected by overclocking)? Thanks for your help in advance. Cheers.

None of the nForce4 boards have a BIOS setting for locking the SATA drives, as it is a native feature I believe.

As I understand it the Gigabyte boards are lousy overclockers though. Possibly to do with the completely passive chipset cooling solution (ones with a heatpipe set up do better). Also, you need to use something like CTRL+F1 to get into the advanced BIOS settings.

Yeah, that's what I thought but it seems there are some nforce4 board that has only limited locked sata ports. For example, some MSI board has only 2 locked sata ports 3&4, when another board from another manufacturer has 2 locked sata but this time only 1&2 are locked. So I'm kind of confused which case apply to mine.

I think that problem was specific to the nForce3 motherboards.

Do you think it's safe to think all sata ports are locked on nforce4/sli mobo? I've looked everywhere but couldn't find any firm statement about it. I even asked this same question on other forums but didn't get any replies there. If you happened to find good source please let me know. Cheers
