Old mobo BIOS beeps
My dad has this old motherboard (ECS K7VZA) he uses to run a little project in his workshop, which has recently developed a BIOS beep.
It's a PhoenixBIOS chip and it emits one beep followed by a 3 sec pause repeatedly. This doesn't match anything I find on the internet for PhoenixBIOS codes, so I was wondering if anyone knew what it meant?
Thanks.

Bump.
No-one able to help?
It could potentially save £100s if we can fix this thing.

ram would be my first guess...will it not let you boot into memtest?

I actually own this motherboard, and after a bit of testing it's definitely your ram which is at fault.

Well, that's good coz I have 2 sticks, so I'll just take one out and see if it boots. RAM is usually what goes wrong, but the beep code just didn't match anything I could find.
I couldn't run memtest 'coz it wouldn't POST, but fingers crossed I can get it going again.
Thanks.
