    Wink Core 2 Duo E6300 3DMark Results

Been playing with this some more, got it sat now at 3.22Ghz @ Stock Volts, 460x7 FSB, RAM is 1:1. With a Sapphire Radeon X1900XT-X @ Stock.

    3DMark01 -

    3DMark03 -

    3DMark05 -

Going to try and get the CPU to 3.4/3.5Ghz and re-run, see if it gets much better.

    Robbo.

Its not slow, other than the cache, this baby is running 400Mhz faster than an X6800. On stock volts, nice and cool on air.

On this motherboard (ds3) the allendales i.e. e6300 and e6400, reach much higher fsb than conroes e6600, e6700 and x6800. The board seems to prefer the lower cache that the allendale processors have. This means that with this board, the overclock that you can get with an Allendale might well be higher than what you achieve with a more expensive conroe

It's important to have fast ram though as there are no lower memory dividers supported on the mobo (yet )

I thought the e6400 was technically a Conroe. Either way both the 6300 and 6400 are great, the 6400 at stock is fantastic and seems to overclock rather well whilst the 6300 lags behind at stock speeds but overclocks a bit more.

I'm really hoping that the mobo prices comes down within the nex 6-7 weeks and availability increases, at the moment that's the only reason to turn to athlon x2 (3800 and 4200), especially if you want to overclock.

Yeah, although www.scan.co.uk have the e6300 in stock now. I think that e6300 and e6400 are Allendales due to the fact that they have 2mb of L2 cache rather than Conroe's 4mb.
