    Cheap & Quiet 12cm fan?

I have 3 Akasa ambers but 2 of them seems to be broken and giving out loud noises Thought all the ambers were like that until I found out one of the three is dead quiet at full thrust (unlike the other 2 which is noisier than the good one even at 5V)

Will need to upgrade 3 fans so need something cheap... No non-uk ebay please.

    Cheers
    Arthur

i can suggest these but only if you are using a Fan controller, they are quiet, if turned down, and very good also. i have also used this ebay guy.

I have used a few of these and have been quite happy with them.

I use them with my XP120's to keep my cpu's cool.
    Recommended despite the silly name.

i remember seeing some really cheap ones on ebuyer for about 2 quid. people were raving about how quiet they were, so might be worth a look.

EDIT: there you go mate...99p http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/63281

the ebuyer current batch 4 pin are not as quiet as the 3 pin batch, these were great value and quiet, I got 3 of them, picked up 3 of this batch hoping, but typical they had changed them. Still, for the price, and run off a FC, bargain

Yate Loon falls in the cheap (at least compared to the Nexus), and quiet category.. but you would have to take German Ebayer. Honestly though, the Silencio guy is generally agreed to be reliable, and would even give give a discount if you mention SPCR (and strike the deal outside Ebay).

Another vote for Silencio and his Yate-Loons. P&P isn't much to the UK either, so don't let that put you off.
I also bought a noise reduction kit off him at the same time.
Very pleasant guy, and his goods are very high quality.

    Another vote for Silencio.

I tested a Coolermaster Blue LED (from Scan) and a Amber fan. Both were tested at 5v and the Amber fan was pushing more air but it only a bit louder (may not be noticeable in a case). You may want to consider other fans instead of the Coolermaster due to low output?

the nexus fans are just rebranded yate loons with the speed stepped down a touch, for twice the price!

i would have voted for the yate loons off silencio_777, but he said he wanted uk sellers

For ghetto cheap you can check the dumpster behind a local PC dealer for a tossed out PSU. The cheap ones tend to have pretty quiet fans in them and most of the throwaway PSUs I've seen lately from bargain basement cases have 120mm fans.
I found 4 like this to use to keep cool this summer.

Correct about the Nexus fans..the orange colour isn't a huge deal for me compared to silence . Any particular reason why UK sellers are a must? P&P's very reasonable with silencio, less than what you'd pay for UK carriage for my order anyway (£5.80 P&P for 3 120mm fans and a noise reduction kit)...whole lot only came to £21 something.
The guy's very reliable, and he's very prompt and informative when answering questions.
In fact, he's more helpful than many UK sellers, he'll test the fans before shipping, to make sure that they startup on at least 5V (many start up at less than this), so you don't have any problems when you tone them down.
