    getting my core 2 duo next monday

    getting the E6300, gigabyte 965p-ds3, ninja mine, antec NSK4400, GSkill HZ ddr2 2G kit..


    Aimming >3.5G .. hope the rig won't disappoint me

    Nice, only thing you're getting the same as me on is the RAM. I heard good stories about it

    Ive got crapper RAM than the HZ, running at the same Mhz as the HZ, the HZ is tighter and can run faster. Phwoar!

    Nice one - I've got the components for a similar setup coming in a few days

    The gigabyte ds3 is getting some amazing results. I can't wait!

    ive been reading that the g.skill hz ram and he ds3 dont play nicely, something about the board not seeing the ram as cas4 and then auto setting it to cas3 and then wont boot up, been trying to find out if it does the same with ocz 6400 cas4 ram, but no definitive answer yet.

    It seems the best ram to go for is the TeamGroup 2gb ddr2 667 kit. There are results on several forums of it being clocked easily to ddr2 900+ speeds which is perfect for ocing the ds3 which lacks lower multipliers.

    already got the ocz stuff, just could do with finding out of anyone has managed it on the ds3, but thats another thread

    saw on another forum, a ds3 with gskill hz can be clocked to 1000+
