    im going to oil cool my pc :)

    as above im going to make my pc air tight take all my heatsinks off then fill it up with cooking oil. anyone done it b4 on here? just picked up and fx 55 and a dfi top doggy ocing board forgotten name of it now, and im going to whack some g skil lram in and plan to pwn a massive oc out of it..
    ps its not the system in my spec thats a differnt one

    what u think?

    just remember to take ur hard disk drives and cd-rom drives out of the oil, as they wont function

    might have something to do with the fact water conducts electricity..

    i dont mean with pipes btw, i mean fill it up so it will look like a fish tank of oil with my pc init, yer ty steve i thought that would be the case

    Won't the oil get warm? Sort of like having a warm bath...

    yeh the oil acts as a giant heatsink and the case will be my radiator
    now to get me a case that will look right lol, cant see my wavemaster being the one for the job lol. im tempted to mod a fish tank but it wouldnt be the same

    Just to warn you, warm vegetable oil will collect micro-organisms, and it'll go rancid fairly shortly - then it'll stink...

    You should use mineral oil to stop this happening.

    yeh, i was going to look into the oil soon, but thats fine, looks like this will be done around monday hopefully will be well funny, hopefully it works well and il just leave it there and just chuck new bits in

    yup only things making noise will be psu and drives, lol no i dont want a stirer, i know its a bit wacky but as yousaid what the hell i gotta do something wen im bored lol
