    P4 heatsinks?

Did the P4 heatsink change in the changeover from s478 to 775 ?

I have a s478 heatsink and the base (when heatsink upside down) is shaped like _----------_ with the lower bits spaced out to give room to the plastic pegs that hold the bracket into the system...

Yet a new heatsink I bought , the base is completely flat like ------------ does this mean they've sold me the wrong one?

    Thanks in advance

    Josh

Not really, it could be that the new heatsink can be used with both a 478 and 775 CPU. Whats the make and model?

I'll check when I'm at home. At the moment the heatsink doesn't go low enough to actually touch the CPU :/

this is the cpu that doesn't contact with the cpu

I have a spare heatsink that i've fitted (with the _-------_ type design) and it is ok.
