850 - 900 to spend

Right well i need a new pc, it will be for up to date games and as fast as possible!

Id like a conroe 6600 with a motherboard capable of SLI but with probably just one 7900GT for a start.

Any suggestions or places to get these things cheaply?

I need:

CPU
PSU
RAM
MOBO
HDD ~ 300gb

Get them from scan. I've found them extremely reliable although maybe not the cheapest. As for the whole conroe thing, I'd wait. there aren't many motherboards that are compatible with it (its a good processor though).

Also, DX10 is coming along soon. If I've got my sources right, games in the future are gonna need physics cards and directx 10. (i dont know if current cards are compatable with it)

well the problem is my current pc is aboot knackered and i cant play games

its killing me so i need one quick lol

a physics card will probably be pci-e and i cant see them making them not compatible with current cards. I dont mind having a card behind current gen, can always upgrade in the future.

It will be ages till games acually need dx10 cards, most dx9 games work with Geforce 4 cards still.
