Memory Advice - 1GB or 512MB?

Need some more advice please

I bought 2x512mb Twinmos PC3200 with Winbond CH-5 but was wondering if the following wil be better

G-Skill DDR - 2 x 512mb PC3200 2-3-3-6 timings @ stock voltage

The Twinmos don't run Dual Channel in an MSI K8N SLi.

Does running in Dual Channel actually make an difference for just Windows, MS Office, Internet usage?

I've got the same TwinMos RAM and mine will run in dual-channel with my Asus P4P800E Deluxe but only when the FSB of the RAM is locked to 200, set it any higher and the mobo/BIOS itself disables DC mode.
