Memory Advice - Twinmoss or G Skill - Please See Last Post

    Need some urgent advice please

Will having 1GB (2x512MB) as opposed to 512MB (2x256MB) make much difference to Windows XP? I don't play games just surfing and MS Office etc.

Stiggeh is selling some RAM in the 'For Sales' and I'm wondering which to go for - http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=82687.

Putting together an A64 S939 box and wondering what to go for.

    Thanks in advance.

If you really are just strictly surfing the web and using office you'd be ok with 512mb. That’s what I had to use at work (actually about 504mb after the on-board graphics took its share) for about a year and was perfectly adequate for that use. But I started to notice the lack of RAM when doing things like extracting ISO's, encoding videos and using Photoshop.

So in short if can afford that little extra go for the 1GB.

1gb is a must for me when building any system nowadays. It never hurts to get that little bit extra and helps a lot when perhaps you want to ask your system to do that little bit more
