    More Overclocking Nubes

I'm really sorry for starting another overclocking thread but i desperately need help.

My computer needs an upgrade and i cant afford to buy a new processor so i thought I'd try my hand at overclocking. So far, every forum or help site i have visited have told me the technicalities but haven't told me what to actually do. As far as I'm aware my motherboard doesn't have an overclocking utility in the bios so i need to run it from windows.

I'm not looking to break any records, I just want to add maybe 200mhz to my processor just to see how its done, then maybe I can move on to greater things.

apparently it does have limited BIOS options if you are talking about the ECS listed in My System

doesn't look like a good clocking board though.

I used to have an ECS RS482M, just increase the CPU Clock (listed under frequency and voltage control in the BIOS) 220mhz is quite easily achieveable on most 939's. It's not going to make much difference though. I'd find a way to get a proper graphics card, the onboard X200 is terrible, (btw make sure the clock frequency is set to Async and as high as stable on that).

I've had a go with ClockGen. I'm not doing it in a very skilled way (I'm gradually turing up the little bar )
Does anyone know how far I can go with the cooling provided? (I also have a 90mm fan on the case). I've gone up to 2.2 and its stable but I'm scared to go any further as I dont know how hot its getting (I think my motherboard is malfunctioning, it reads 50c constantly even if its just been turned on).

I appreciate you mention that you can't afford a new CPU but what about replacing the onboard gfx with a cheap card? I would have thought you'd see a significant improvement without having to O/C your CPU. OK, I'm assuming that you use your PC for stuff other than number crunching etc, were a gfx card could help... but just food for thought.

DX10 is a long way off, and unless you intend to get vista, it will be of no use to you. I'd get the 6800 if I were you.
