ok i got my conroe's today, mum brought them back from HK got em cheap!
ones alreayd sold to ja3h, and im tapping the other one!
im gonna get a DS4 and i've ordered some team xtreem memory
Good stuff.
Please let us know how easy it was to build and config. e.g. problems encountered
What case/psu are you using?
Cheers
PSU is a type-r 580Watt modular, and its replacing the X2 in the stacker.
Post-purchase of an Abit NF-95 (thanks BUFF) the dual core will be moving into the media rig, once its finished.
The San Diego is now in my brothers PC, superceding an old 2400+, and the Via Epia rig has been dismantled, until i get the conroe rig working
Will keep u posted with updates and things, but I've heard alot of good things about Team Xtreem memory.
Has anyone had any experience with it, good or bad?
As Steve helped me get the conroe i'll hijack this thread
going to build my conroe system a little later today, will let you know what happens!
| Intel 6400 | 2x1GB Corsair | Abit ab9 | 8800gt | Tagan 480w Psu | Xfi extreme music | Antec P182 | Dell 2007fpw|
Very nice, though id want the E6600 if i was getting a Conroe, myself.
Very nice mate. You should be pretty happy with that little lot. My E6600 does a 1m PI run @ 21seconds
e6300 @ 438 fsb 1.4v pi 1 meg 18.2 sec
e6600 @395 fsb 1.6v pi 1 meg 15.6 sec
both in a P5W DH deluxe with cheapo corsair value select ddr2-5300 and Zalman 9500 cooler
need to get some better ram
Ahh jammy bastards.
/me goes back to trying to overlcoking his X2
Dont make that mistake people. E6300 and 6400 are Allendale cores, not conroe, and yes, you may say that they still whoop things, and you would be right, but they overclock quite differently.
I should know I have 3.
Try the usual routine, check you aint missed and auxilary power socket. Move the RAM about, update BIOS, reset the CMOS. All the usual stuff. It's almost always something obvious.Originally Posted by Steve B
