    Shuttles

Ok i really want a shuttle, but how do they compare to 'normal' pcs?

if i get one with this mainboard :

    FN41
    Form Factor Small Form Factor
    CPU Socket A 333/266/200MHz FSB
    Chipsets North bridge:Nvidia nForce2 South bridge:nVidia MCP-T
    Memory DDR 200/266/333/400 * 2(Dual Channel)
VGA Geforce4 MX 128 MB VGA share memory
Audio Realtek ALC650 6 Ch Support Digital SPDIF Output
    Expansion Slot PCI * 1 8XAGP * 1
    IDE interface ATA-133

would i be able to run:

a CDRW, DvD drive, 2x120 HDs, an athlon 2800+ barton, Geforce FX 5600 ultra from it? it says it only has a 200w psu - can this be upgraded? or is it some uber shuttle psu that will run all the above?

and would all this fit in it?

im just exploring the idea atm since i really want a shuttle

Ok first off i think you would want a Shuttle SN45G that would run all of the things you plan on putting in it. the PSU that it comes with will be able to run your componets. there is a new 250w psu coming out but i think you would be fine with the one it ships with, and about your video card iam not 100% sure but i think your video card might be too long to fit. like i said i am not 100% sure so dont take my word just look into a little more. And i think you will be happy with a shuttle, they are nice pc's.

I am not sure if you meant you want to run a DVD and a CDRW or a combo drive? iam sure you know that shuttle will only accomodate 1 or the other ( unless its external )

crap i keep missing stuff.. any way iam not sure but i think you got somthing mixed up... the SN45 supports 400mhz fsb and does not have onboard graphics while the SN41G2 has on board graphics but does not offically support 400mhz fsb.. beside the SN45 is less expensive and since you already have a video card it would be a waste to get the more expensive one with things your wont even use.

well, considering that there is only 1 5 1/2 bay, two optical drives are out for a start, but you should be okay with the rest of it

two hard disks is a little bit of a push to be perfectly honest, people can do it, but i wouldn't like to in mine. I run a 2600xp, 1gig of memory and have been known to stick my radeon 8500 in there too.

The graphics card would fit as long as its not a dual height abit otes one.

    Hope this helps

I would think it would be the heat and the space, my 7200rpm Maxtor gets up to around 45c in there now imagine there where two of them right on top of each other. Would get quite toasty in there
