    A good conroe board please.

Looking at some of these threads makes me want to wait a while to allow this technology to mature. But I need a system in under a month. Can anyone recommend a good motherboard for Conroe which isn't a pain to install.

    Regards

if you need a system in under a month, get the motherboard on day 31!

me and ja3h are on DS4's with no end of problems.
clunk has had to RMA a DS3, P5w-DH, MSI i975

i'd wait a while and see what new boards come out, as they can only get better

Works fine, although picky about RAM like all Conroe boards seem to be =/

Could also be in need of a bios update as memory divider seems stuck at 4:5....

You guys should have gone with the DQ6, I finished my build on Friday but I haven't been able to use it yet (I'm in London now...) and won't be able to until Thursday. But it booted first time and I could get straight into windows.

i can get straight into windows, but as soon as i change any settings in the FSB, it needs a proverbial change of underwear.

this is really starting to confuse the hell out of me! while a lot of u r having problems with the ds3, others are having the time of your life!
i dont know the exact systems in use but from what i can gather the ds3 doesnt work with the ocz mem, but does anyone know if the corsair vs is as bad (cant find the operating volts of this, if 1.8 im guessing itll be ok??)
also do you think that it may be compatability with the cpu.... clunk, your running a e66 as with others, but its seems that people in the overclockers thread of the e63 are running the ds3 fine.... may just be a qurk or im being very silly

it could well be a problem with the 6600 chips and the ds3, mine only got as far as the bios, changed the ram timings and there it was..dead.

keep in mind though, the ds3 is really a budget board, if conroe wasnt new technology and the ds3 had just come out, ill bet it would be priced around the 40-50 mark. theres nothing on it that makes you think..oooh quality, apart from the returns label.
