New build
Hey all,
Just ported all my s939 stuff over into a mATX motherboard in a Silverstone Sugo Evolution case. Finally finished building it! Tagan PSU was, again, a bad choice cos of its heffing size but I managed to get everything in.
Anyway, as soon as I plug in the power supply 3-pin cable and flick the Tagan switch to on, the PC powers up, all the fans spin and the Fatal1ty light illuminates on my X-Fi, if the HD is plugged in (Samsung) it makes a constant clicking (not dead, I've used this HDs before and it sounds like it is being accessed).
What is causing this? :O_o1:
Cheers,
Tobe

Sounds like either the cables for the power/reset/leds/etc are incorrectly fitted or the board is shorting out on the case.

Yeah, i'd echo the shorting issue havig had it before. Although cable lengths can be difficult, the best test is to remove the motherboard (sorry, but undo all the installation!) and place it on a cardboard base. If everything works, it's because the motherboard is touching the case inappropriately. A bit like a priest and a choirboy. :) (Sorry, highly offensive)

Taking the motherboard out makes Tobe unhappy :( However, Tobe shall do as he is told, as Tobe is getting it the neck from leaving the dining room surrounded with PC parts everywhere. He would also like a PC up and working.

I unplugged everything, leaving the basics (PSU, CPU, Memory) as well as the power switch cable and other power cables connected, it now turns on :) Time to put stuff back piece by piece I reckon. Ah well, at least I didn't have to dismantle the mobo from the case!
