The biggest and fastest SD card?

I'm looking for a high-capacity, fast SD card that will work in my Orange SPV M600 phone. I've used Sandisk in the past and never had any problems with them in any device. I think that the highest-capacity SD card at the moment is 4GB and these seem to be reasonably priced. Can anyone recommend a 4GB SD card that has fast read/write specs?

Be very careful. Not all devices will accept a large card and if the do, then they'll be very picky about the manu/model of it. Guy at work bought a 4gb card - in his XDA2i he could only see/format 2gb of it - formatting it in windows (via card reader) sorted that but my phone won't see it _at all_ (Qtek S100) by comparison.

My advice is to find a company who states it's compatible and backs it up with a no quibble return policy.

Speed - this one's more difficult to quantify but the 'fastest' card may not make any different if the transfer speed of you hardware is limiting it. I've benchmarked a few PDAs over the years and found that faster cards were limited by the device rather than the other way round.

For 4gig card support the device needs FAT32 support, FAT16 only allows partitions up to 2gig. I guess an easy way to test for FAT32 support would be to format an existing card as FAT32 in windows and see if it works. But because of this limit, some devices (like card readers) are also limited to 2gig cards, even when they are file-system agnostic.
