Large storage solution

I was planning on buying an XFX Revo64 5 port raid card and 5 320gb seagate 7200.10 and set up a raid array, but after reading this im not so sure its a good idea!

so, what are my options? all other raid cards are much more expensive....
looking to spend about £350, would like about 1TB of space. it doesnt have to be internal storage. NAS is also an option.

well, ive decided just to stick with 320gb seagate 7200.10s without any raid array with an external backup for the vital stuff.
