Hi!

I received my hr05 sli some days ago from jabtech (currently couldnt find it in UK) and it cost around £18.

it lowered my northbridge temps from 47C (with vantec iceberq) to 32-35C without any airflow around the heatsink.

it is an absolutely amazing cooler, just wont fit perfectly with big hsf's due to the lack of space on this board, but i managed to fit in an xp90c/7800GT easily.

you must buy one if your heatsink is heating up your whole case - it has dropped my cpu temps by 2C also.

i would definately recommend it - hopefully someone around the uk willl also stock it soon.

on a dfi nf4 board, the chipset is nowhere near the cpu heatsink, and im pretty sure that even the sli version of the hr-05 wont fit on an sli-d/ultra-d with 2 cards in sli. if anyone wants a cheap and easy silent chipset heatsink for the nf4 boards, just get one of those blue zalman ones and snap a few pins off to make it fit (5 mins of a job). i did it on mine and the chipset temps dropped from just mid 40's to mid 30's with nothing more than a breeze from a 120mm fan. silent and only £3.50

O rly?! I mounted mine really well with AS5 and it's hovering at about 54*C atm nothing actively blowing on it though, just passive flow from one 120mm 5V intake and the same again blowing out... saying that though, idle temps were the same with the stock cooler so

Edit 1: Just checked and Vadim are £6.34 more expensive than Jab-Tech. If I order one it will have to be from the States as long as everything (inc delivery) is £18 or less otherwise you get stung for VAT etc.

Edit 2: the Vadim are selling is the HR-05. The one 5aboy has posted about is the HR-05 SLi.

it had a 7v yate loon blowing over the board, i made one for a mate of mine who has one of those big thermaltake cases and it worked a treat in that as well. 54c though, something isnt right.

The SLI versions looks like it'll block the SATA ports on mine. The normal one should fit in ok. Only one way to find out

You can purscase it from OCuk but its currently out of stock. Im not to bothered about my north bridge cooler, i can not hear it at all when it on full inside my Antec P180.

well you dont install them like you think - there are only two ways of installing it - either on top of or at the bottom of the gfx card. no other way - because then it will hit the sata ports.

im very happy with mine though, and jab-tech are a great company, didnt have to pay tax or anything as they labelled it as a sample model.

Ahh.. I see. after having another look it makes more sense. Payday this weekend. think i might pick one up, and install it if/when scan decide my PSU is faulty

i think this will make a lot more sense to everyone - someone over at dfi forums found it and then everyone realised how silly they sounded about doubting its compatibility:

so no issues with it getting in the way - i think once my kworld dvbt tuner arrives and if im happy with it, ill move my audigy2zs down to the bottom slot and reinstall the nb cooler so that i can get the fan on it properly.

I have a Yate Loon D12SL and a Golf Ball 1000 120mm. The Golf Ball is quieter as it runs at lower rpm. Both are good fans.

I would go for the Golf Ball due to lower noise.
