    Ok new system time.....

The two shuttles i have picked out are

    Shuttle XPC SN21G5 Black aluminum,nForce410, PCI-E x16, AMD 939, SATA300 Raid, 10/100 Lan, 5.1 Sound

    and the

Shuttle SN95G5 V3 AMD K8 AMD S939, Gbit LAN, USB2, Firewire, RAID, SATA RAID, 6ch. Audio

Now if i take the first option it means new gfx time and thats at least another 100 there for a x800/x850 pci-e card

If i take the last option i can reuse my x800 xt pe agp card thus saving me a fair bit of cash.

The SN21 only has 10/100 lan but SATA 300, the SN95 has 10/100/1000 lan but only sata 150

Now the rig is going to be mated with a AMD64 3700 as at 70 quid its rather cheap.

    Any sugestions ?

sn21 untill the time comes for am2, as it keeps the graphics card you have (presuming that works well?)

SATA 150 and SATA 300 don't really make any difference since most (all?) hard drive don't even use all the bandwidth of IDE133.

I'd probably go for the second option. You can keep your graphics and save some cash and get the faster network connection (assuming that really matters). If you went for the first option, by the time you'd upgrade again, your new graphics card would be probably out of date. This way, you can save your cash for a new graphics card when you need it.

Well i gone the SN95G5 route and it works flawless with the AMD64 3700, shame about drivers for XP64 being junk, last updated in 2004 ? and no web cam drivers from logitech (but thats another story)

Looks like i'll image the XP64 install and put XP back on for now till such a time as the drivers are mature however i got a sneaky suspicsion that nvidia will not make any new drivers for nForce III on xp64 even when vista comes out

I have noticed one thing from moving from my SN45G5 is that the sound is pants on the SN95, but thats a story done to death, any sugestion for a decent soundcard with possible 64bit drivers ? with dobly digital encoding ?
