You gotta admit it LOOKS pretty cool visually.

if it is assembling the TCP/IP packets in hardware, that is quite a high end feature. Unless you have a big server oriented card, this will be done in the host OSs software TCP stack. If this card works the same as other high end server cards in that regard, then that alone could be a reason for *some* people to get it. I'm sure it's changed now with 3ghz+ CPUs out there, but a few years ago the easiest way to get maximum throughput on a gigabit network post was to use hardware cards like these.Originally Posted by Dav0s
IGN said that about it. http://uk.gear.ign.com/articles/729/729733p2.html i knew they were useless but THAT useless?!Dropping $300 to switch between one generation of graphics card and the next will generally get you a lot less than a 10% fps gain. The Killer NIC can have an even bigger impact in particular situations,

so its a "Phantom" then?Originally Posted by kalniel

Well I wouldn't go quite that far - investors these days are a little wiser so there's probably a clause on producing x number of units etc. It will almost certainly appear, there will be contracts with a few enthusiast parts stockists (OCuk type people) who will probably sell a few hundred each. Then it's just a question of business model - it sounds to me like he's gone for the ultra-high margin, low-turnover model, which is easier for startups. Then it's just a question of costing/cash flow as to whether it actually generates any kind of momentum for a move to higher volume or whether it just peters out (more likely IMO).
lee will have 2 on pre order
I want Hexus to review one of these things...

This is the reason for being pawned lately on cs:s...
Its not my overheating gfx, or 75degree cpu, or even my poor aim; its these damn cards!!!!
