Hi all,
I've seen several posts on this forum about variations of the IcyBox external drive enclosures, but I can't find anything about my specific issue.
I've just purchased one of the SATA/USB2 connected SATA drive enclosures (351STUS) but I have a problem physically connecting the drive. Inside the case there is a combined power and data slot connector which mates up nicely with that on my Hitachi 250GB SATA drive, BUT if I slot the drive onto that connector, then the retaining screw holes on the casing don't line up with the drive. The little manual that comes with case says that I should connect the drive cables to the internal connector, but no drive cables are supplied.
So this leaves me a with a dilema. I can choose between:
1. Connect the drive directly to the data/power connector but have it basically loose within the case. (So must keep case flat to avoid strain on connector)
2. Secure the drive to the case with the 4 screws provided but have a 1 inch gap between the drive and the connectors. Not much use!
Any one solved this ? How have you connected your drive?
