some useful info for anyone that needs to rma

well have finally got some form of resolution from overclockers over my rma msi 1800xt 512 took me 2 months and a lot of hassle from them

and also found out a few interesting things for anyone else having to rma

firstly they told me that the supplier has up to 90 days to repace the card once it is found faulty this is in fact a lie

secondly if your rma goes back and they tell you 28 days for rma once the 28 days are up if they have not sent it back to you, you can send them a letter of redress giving them 7 days to replace the item or legal action also if you send a letter to your credit card company at the same time they are also legally responsible and will give you a refund and then get there money back from the seller

my ordeal took 2 months to sort but finally they have offered me a replacement card that should turn up tomorrow

all of this info is from trading standards and consumer direct so is true

DON'T LET COMPANIES LIKE OVERCLOCKERS TAKE THE P**S ON OUR RMA'S

how old was the card when it developed the fault, and what did overclockers tell you the delay was?

i really struggle to understand how that firm is still trading, the amount of disgruntled customers is incredible, and in my opinion, they have no redeeming features as a retailer.

card was 3-4 months old and the hold up was allegedly due to there suppliers not sending out a replacement to them
it took the threat of legal action action and numerous phone calls and emails to actually get them to offer an alternative replacement

I called trading standard about this very practice recently while RMAing my X1900XTX to MicroDirect.

They told me they were fully within their rights to do that, although 30 working days is 'pushing the term "within reasonable time"' but is still legit.

Unfortuantly, the replacement has now died, another 6-7 weeks without it now.......place like overclockers and microdirect will never get a penny from me or the ppl who I recomend to ever again because of this joke of a practice though.

Best way to hit them, try scan mate, iv order several things off them over the last year and iv never had any real problems with them, lost i/o shield aside.

Word of mouth can make or break an online retailer, especially one in such a packed market like PC suppliers.

it's terrible the amount of people these companies take the P*** with anyone who has had an rma take ridiculously long should make a formal complaint to trading standards if they recieve too many then they can have there credit card processing systems removed so that they can't accept credit cards then they can't get money and will no longer be able to trade
