Just a quick simple question:
How much bigger can the ide drive get?
how much bigger CAN it get or how much bigger WILL it get?
i would have thought they will stop making drives when they reach around 500gb. i don't ever believe the bullrubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish in theoretical limits, there's money in I.T. and wile people are inventing, people will buy.
i would have thought preferance for SATA will come before the ACTUAL limit for IDE
dothan 745 @ 2.4ghz | 2gb Corsair XMS (2-3-3-6) | dual raptors (raid0) | ATI 9700pro | CM201 | dual lg 1810
As music, pictures and video come more and more to the PC, space on peoples harddrives is going to be more and more in demand - theres a fair few mp3 players with 60GB already, think what will happen when portable video players come through...
The limit with the current protocol is about 2 TB IIRC which should see us for a few years ahead.
Now go away before I taunt you a second time.
