    SLI Question

Looking at getting another 7800GTX and upgrading my system to SLI but I have a question before I go and buy.

Does the card have to be the same spec my current?

i.e. Could I use an extreme edition card with my vanilla in a SLI setup.

    Cheers for any feedback

I believe the faster card will be clocked down to the speed of the slower one.

Is there any reason why you can't get another just like what you have. There is no way that it will do any better and you are less likely to have problems/ waste money.

I found http://www.slizone.com/page/home.html to be quite useful for basic questions.

I was also considering going SLI with my 7800GTX, although having done some initial research and added threads on here I think I'm just going to buy a better single (SLI) card and then in future I could buy a second card.

    Thank you RH:

Can I mix and match graphics cards is one of them is overclocked by the manufacturer?
Yes. A GeForce 7800 GTX that is overclocked (for example BFG GeForce 7800 GTX OC) can be mixed with a standard clocked GeForce 7800 GTX.

from the link you supplied. Ebay here I come!
