Molex / ATX 8 pin psu power plugs..where from?

Im looking for an 8 pin ATX power plug. i need a male and a female so i can make an extension lead. im not entirely sure what the correct name for these are, so im not having much luck finding them. Kustom do the 4 pin, and the 6 pin (pcie), but not the 8 pin...they do however sell and extension lead pre-made, but the are out of stock with no eta...does anyone know where i might find these?

p.s. before anyone says to use 2 x 4 pin, one of them is different, and i cant find the other ones either!

It might be worth asking in Kustom's forums, from previous browsings they did seem quick to respond and give details on when there might be more stock or another alternative item due.

clunk, why do u need an extension lead?
surely i'd be easier just to snip the wires in half and add in an extra section?

thanks, i emailed them yesterday, no eta at the moment...mainly, im wondering if anyone knows the proper name for these? so far ive seen them called 8 pin eps, 8 pin atx, 8 pin molex..bit stuck at the moment.

My Akasa PSU came with one of those connectors hanging out of it, which was a suprise.

I believe it is called EPS12V if that helps.

The connectors are Molex Microfit.

chuckskull, thats the right thing, but i was trying to find one in the uk that has black plugs...ive got some of the tagan wires to match the rest of the wires, but need black plugs, fussy i know, but its got to be right :)...its just that one lead thats too short!

the reason i need an extension lead is because im changing over to a full tower case, but the psu is in the bottom of the case and the motherboard fits half way up, and on the p5b, the 8 pin power lead will be right at the top corner, so the lead on the psu would have to be pulled tight across the graphics card to fit...not what i want to do :)

p.s. dont want to snip them in half, its a brand new psu...need the warranty!

that looks like the connector and Farnell should have crimps etc.

Now do you have to find *just* the right shade of wire? ;)

it shows 10 pins, but it says its 8 way. hmm.

Sorry, in the forest of microfit connectors I clicked on the wrong one. I'm sure you can find it on Farnell somewhere, just search for Microfit :)

Just looked again, the description is 8 way, the picture seems to be wrong.

I notice a mininum order of 10 parts, wonder how many other people want one!

Good luck finding them, that eBay seller offers custom cables might be worth asking him. Otherwise get some balck spray paint from halfords :P
