Have you tried any of the beta BIOSes? I'm still confused though, how can you select the memory divider? All I see is the multiplier... :? I've downloaded the F5c BIOS but am not gonna try it right now hehe...however I *do* have the dualBIOS feature so I shouldn't be too worried.

Also I found this Intel Thermal app that's pretty funky and also got a tool called core temp, should be good for now...

Now where is this memory divider located? /me just can't find it!

Yeah, erm... don't use F5c I couldn't boot with any of my overclocks... even liike 1Mhz... Memory divider is in the main overclocking page: it's the bit with the memory clock just beneath it.

Do you mean the System Memory Multiplier? I know that 2x sets it to 1:1 that's it. What about 2.5, 3, 4 ?

(I didn't take that shot, and it isn't of my system, using it as an example...)

...right, but back to my question again...how do you know what the divider is... why the heck can't they call it 1:1, 2:3, 4:3, 5:6 etc etc? So darn silly tbh...any ideas m8...pulling my hair out over this!

According to the manual the options are:

System Memory Multiplier: 2.00, 2.50, 2.66, 3.00, 3.33, 4.00
FSB:Memory Divider:       1:1

Ok so:

2.0 = 1:1
2.5 = 4:5
2.66 = 3:4
3.0 = 2:3
3.3 = 3:5
4.0 = 1:2

All gigabyte have done, just to feel different and to confuse poor souls like me, is to take the memory/fsb ratio and * 2, to give the fsb > DD2 ratio lol...pfffft!

Why can't people just stick to regular convensions that have survived the test of time? Seriously!

As a note, I've bumped VCore to 1.45v and VDimm to 2.2v (+0.4v). That Core Temp Beta app is quite useful and Prime is running quite happily.

However, as stated before, the temps are terrible so I need to get a decent HSF asap.
