Upgrading/ rebuilding a PC - Good Components here?

I'm upgradeing/ rebuilding my current PC with the following components currently catching my eye -

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 – 130.41
Gigabyte GA 965P-DS3 iP965 – 95.63
1GB Corsair Value Select, DDR2 PC5300 (667) - 79.35
250 Gb Samsung Spinpoint P – 47.81
256Mb XFX 7600GS, PCI-E (x16), Mem 900 MHz, GPU 500 MHz, 12 Pipes, Dual DVI-I/HDTV – 70.30

All prices are from Scan BTW.

The PC will be used mainly for email/ internet/ work duties so there's no need for bleeding edge components. However I'm a bit out of practice when it comes to putting a PC together especially when it comes to using DDR2 memory so is there anything wrong with what I've chosen?

you'll need a powersupply which can match that spec. I would be looking at either this or this.
The rest is so simple its funny, just follow the motherboard manual and you can't go wrong, ever!

If you need to save a few quid you dont need such a hefty power supply as the ones suggested, 450 would be MORE than enough

I've got an Antec 430W PSU which should be more than enough to run everything on the list plus anything else I may add. I should've clarified my query about the DDR2 memory - is it OK to run PC5300 memory with a CPU that runs on a FSB of 1066Mhz?

Yup no problem at all, it'll just run at DDR533 (266x2) instead of the DDR666 or whatever it's capable of. Or you can run it asynchronously to run at DDR666 while the processor runs at 1066(266x2x2)

I think you have done a deal with some sort of PSU devil LOL!
Even if you were running a P4, 400W would be MORE than enough, and the Core 2 Duo's are much less power hungry.
A decent (ie name brand) 300W PSU will be fine for that system, so yes, an Antec 430W absolutely no worries.

At 80% efficiency you'd only need a supply rated at 384W to cope :p

yeah but theres no way you could get a 600w psu to boot with a 400w load, it needs to be in a comfortable range

if youre using a 430w psu dont expect high overclocks or sli, and the more strain you put on your psu the less life all the components in the system will have

I dont think that SLi is high on the list.
As for overclocking, it's a thought, but the draw in Watts has alot more to do with the Voltage that you may need to increase by.
Many people are quite happy with a reasonable overclock and no voltage increase, in order to keep power usage, heat generation and therefore noise all lowered.
(PS I am talking slightly out of my depth on this, i'm not an electrical engineer so only regurgitate what i read about)

Nope but it's currently the best CPU for the money with excellent power saving features that I'm going to utilise. The PC will also be used to stream content to an XBox 360 so having a dual core CPU will ensure that if any is using the PC at the same time then they shouldn't notice any slowdown. Besides, why not? It's not an expensive CPU to buy.
